Poseidon Rising
Poseidon Rising was originally posted on the Blair Firsters Board between April 3 and April 26, 2002 and is still can be read there in a folder labeled Consequences In Blue Notes. Poseidon Rising was written in response to the rumor, eventually confirmed, that Roger Howarth was leaving his role as Todd Manning and was my version of what could happen if Todd returned to Llanview at a later date after he was presumed dead. I appreciated the comments of the posters who originally read this story and the support I received while writing Poseidon Rising more than I can say. I wanted to preserve the comments so I have archived them on this page.
Please note that the comments reveal plot twists and story elements, so if you have not read Poseidon Rising and would rather not know what happens, it might be best to wait to view this page until after you’ve finished the story. On the other hand, the comments are arranged so that they are labeled by the chapters that the poster just finished reading. This is not a sequel in the “color series” but a stand-alone piece. I
couldn’t stop thinking about the speculation made months ago that Todd might
die an “ambiguous-watery-soap-opera-style” death in Hawaii. I think it was
Dande who said that as long as water was involved that we didn’t have to worry
about Todd really dying because water always restored him to life. LOL. So
anyway this is my version of that speculation. And since y’all know I am the
founder and only member of CHAIR (Chad & Blair), you know Chad had to be in

amnesia or not? I think he's playing some game. But Blair's not playing, is she?
And 8 weeks? WTF is up with Viki? No one thought that maybe his main squeeze

can take or leave Chad, good as a secondary character, don't get any extra
thoughts in your head. Love Amanda, she is hysterical. Leave it to Todd to get
help from a very sexual woman. I think it might be fun to have Amanda and BLair

characters are just creeping me out.
Vincent... I do NOT like him. Amanda's funny. She's crass and crazy and plays pretty up front and I can admire that. She also knows that Todd loves Blair and Blair loves Todd. Vincent is way too smooth... I don't like him and I don't trust him. Every word out of his mouth is calculated and I don't want to see Blair falling for that.
Todd never says the
right thing but at least they come from that passionate part of him.
Chad is a child. Seriously, there is nothing to him that would entice Blair for
any length of time. He's a decent kid with a touch of badness about him. He's
got nothing on Todd.
And anyway, it's obvious that Blair still wants her OTS... that one night was enough to show that her need for him, her desire for him is overpowering. Blair tries to outsmart herself too much. When she follows her heart she does all right for herself. It's the scheming and planning that so rarely goes right.
Todd needs to kick Vincent's ass all over the place. He just does. That guy's a weasel.

As long as you don't
damage Chad too badly I can be a bit lenient. Don't damage my soap opera
boyfriend too badly!
Amanda doesn't creep me out. She's too wacky to do that. I think it's hysterical that she's digging Blair. I loved the whole Todd thought process that after going through all the trouble of hooking up with a lesbian so that there wouldn't be any question as to his loyalty and she has the nerve to fall in love with his woman. Too damn funny.
I could understand
why Blair did her one-dance; one-drink thing with Chad. He is reminiscent of
Todd back in the day but he doesn't have all the darkness and all the baggage. I
know Blair would get some comfort out of that but in the long run he isn't for
her and comes no where close to being the kind of man that matches her. (Chad
and Jessie are pretty! Go Chassi!) And it is no mystery to me why guys think
that Blair is all that and a pack of smokes to indulge in after. 'Cause she is.
Vincent needs to hurt. Seriously. Too. Damn. Smooth. Blair better be aware. I want Todd to kick his ass and I want Blair to kick his ass.
And I hope Starr
comes around although I can see where she's coming from.
