CHAPTER 21 (The End)
Zzanee 1.10.02: Great story!
I really enjoyed it.
I particularly liked that Blair found her own way home. So what is next?
Joyce317 1.10.02: Re:
Great story!
Tessa I've loved
your first FF, that little town had a lot of interesting characters.
So we can expect the new FF to begin tomorrow?? Right??
Dandesun 1.10.02: Wonderful
Just wonderful.
Excellent job, Tess. It was a real treat to get a look into Blair's heartbreak.
It was also nice to see so many guys (okay 2) hit on her. Blair's still a
knockout even if someone thinks she's got "Property of T. Manning"
tattooed on her forehead.
This was good stuff. Hope we see more from you soon.
Quen 1.10.02 : Ditto
on everyone else's comments!
This was great, Tess!
You did one heck of a job for a first time. Hope you get the yearning to write
more. I'd definitely read. This was a very refreshing story to read. Just
wonderful!
Dorianrocks 1.10.02:
Phenomenal!!!
This story was SO dead on...
I wish this would
play out on our screens. You had them ALL down perfect. I could see and HEAR
them doing and saying all of the things you wrote.
I cried alot. This story really touched me. Blair's pain. Blair's love for Todd
that she just couldn't deny or let go despite what he did. How she reclaimed
herself.
You have Todd perfectly too. I just wish he would do ALL that he did in this
story on our tv screens. I loved the possessiveness, his handing her rings to
her, his pronouncements of "MY wife" lol. His explanation to Starr in
the last chapter of "painting a memory" just killed me.
They were just SO happy and SO right together in the end. They had all found
some kind of peace and the bit about having a great day reminded me of Todd to
Starr the day Blair thanked him with a kiss and he knew he had another shot a
being with her.
I just think you're a fantastic writer and I would love if you wrote more FFs.
It would be my pleasure to read. I read this whole thing in one sitting. It was
like one of those books you can't put down.
Brava!! Brava!!
Blainca 1.10.02: Sensational!!!
That was great!!!
Tess... I felt good reading it...all the parts that didn't have me crying...I
didn't mind shedding a tear or two... Blair pain was something else... it was so
real I could feel it...You did a wonderful job Tess!!!
But know of course you let the secret out of the bag we know you can write FF
and mighty mighty fine FF at that....Soooooooo...when can we be looking forward
to your lates project hmmmm?
Thank Tess!!! It was a fantastic read!!!

1.10.02: Simply
beautiful. This did my heart good.
I loved all the
quiet moments and the fact that Blair found her own peace. This was divine in
its simplicity. I adored it TessaRae. You are so talented.
LadydayN 1.11.02: I
cannot believe that you were hesitant about posting this!
Tess, this was just
a wonderful story. I hope you don't mind, but I have pimped you out to others. I
just wanted to share this wonderful story! I'll admit that I was a little leary
of Blair baking cookies, but you explained the abberation perfectly! My mom can
bake your mom under the table, LMAO!
Looking forward to your sophmore effort, Tess.
Tessarae87 1.11.02:
THANK
YOU!
I’m going to try
not to come across like a complete DORK here but I was in tears while reading
the feedback. I want all of you to know how much I appreciate your comments and
the fact that you took the time to read the story.
I never expected such a positive reaction. I’ve always wanted to write fiction
and I tried a few things but this was my first attempt at fan fiction and I’ve
never had the nerve to show anyone anything I’ve written before. Then to hear
that what I wrote made people cry or laugh or touched them in some way (Thank
you, Joyce, quen, Dorianrocks, blainca & Kammi) or surprised them (I knew
the cookies would get you, ladyday, :-) and, btw, pimp me all you want) and to
have GREAT writers like Dande and zzanee tell me I did okay (Thank you), maybe
you can forgive me the tears. Your support is very much appreciated.

1.14.02: I
loved those family moments when they watched the kids
sleep. My favorite
was the end when he called her Princess Blair and said that he would protect and
cherish her forever.

1.14.02: OMG
a happy Todd and Blair Thank you the story
Was wonderful.
Finally he got it and so did she. I loved how it took a while and trust was
learned. All I can say is when is the next story... You have the workings there
with the TV station purchase and fighting with Kevie and maybe the Shank can be
thrown in for good measure. Blair still hasn't kicked Kelly's ass yet..She owes
her.. Now I am waiting when are you starting the next one. You wouldn't want to
disappoint us now would you. Especially me, ask any one here..zzanne, dande, ld,
go, I am merciless...

4.21.02: Okay,
I'm a little late to the party but I'm here...
Wow tessarae! What
an excellent tale. Unlike others who were saddened, I found myself so ANGRY
about Blair's pain in the early going that I had to stop reading. Blair's
emotions were so raw that I could feel all my anger towards Todd about DBL
resurfacing. ...he threw my baby away like yesterday's garbage. This
isn't love. It can't be fixed or explained away. How can Blair get past it? How
can I? Oh damn you to hell Todd Manning! I was this close to sending a
nasty email to LD for pimping this story to me because all those bad feelings
had returned. But I decided to finish the chapter and I'm glad I did.
The small town atmosphere, friendship with Sheri and Emily, the lyrics to
Blair's songs were all wonderful. I admit, I was aghast when Blair had sex with
Todd in Creedyville. Why was it so hard for her to not love him when it was to
her detriment? Why didn't she fight it? But then the words Emily spoke to her
about wasting time. The words she spoke to Jake and Wes about Todd still owning
her heart. How she said none of this was about not loving Todd because she
always would, but about whether she could find the place in her heart to forgive
him. All those strangers who became friends who shared similar experiences, all
those songs that didn't exactly fit her circumstance but fit her emotional pain,
all that time away from her children, alone, with friends, working, playing,
singing, crying - she was able to find that forgiveness. I still don't know HOW
she did it (especially without Todd being rushed to the ER) but the way you tell
it, it made me think and think about how Blair feels and not just the end game
of getting T&B together.
I also must comment that I really liked Starr asking Todd if he'd tell her Blair
was dead and Blair making light of the Patrick situation when she told him she
was returning. Also, in the early chapters when Blair was depressed th- her
"Todd lies" response were terrific. I'd actually like to see a
depressed reaction like this (not seeing red) on e show before Blair goes
medieval on Todd's PMF ass. I look forward to reading more of your stories.
LadydayN 4.22.02: Now b, would
your good friend ladyday ever steer you wrong?
I told you that the
beginning of this one would get to you, and make you pause. I told you to keep
in mind, when the reading gets tough, that Tessarae is a die-hard T&B'er,
but she doesn't write easy solutions (like there could be one to the DBL).
Tessarae rocks as a Blairian writer, doesn't she?
Zzanee 4.22.02:
This
girl rocks as Blairan writer!
Our Tess writes one
of the best Blair, especially her big heart. That is tough to do without the
character seeming weak or whimpy. I would love to see Blair do this on the show
when Todd leaves. She so needs to get back in touch the non-T&B Blair. The
one that existed before Todd and will exist after he has left. Blair used to
have a strong voice. I would love her to find it again. But at least when Tess
writes her, she does!
BTW, Tess, I replied to your e-mail.
Tessarae87 4.24.02 :
Thanks,
b, LD, & zzanee!
B, I am so glad you
liked Consequences!
I know it was a little rough in the beginning but it disturbed me that the
writers let Todd do this awful thing and then they seemed intent on saying over
and over again, “Hey, it really wasn’t that bad.” It was. And I wanted to
make the argument that once the DBL was revealed the writers could treat the
fallout with a measure of honest respect for the impact it would have on Blair
and not downplay its horror and they could still chart a path to forgiveness. I
have no illusions that my solution was the only or best way for Blair to come to
grips with the lie but it was one way. And I believed when I wrote Consequences
and I still believe that it would have to be Blair’s story and her choice
because there is nothing Todd can do to make up for that lie. But I don’t
think the writers on the show are willing to give Blair a voice in all of this.
And oddly enough the what really set me off and got me to write Consequences was
when Todd told Sam he knew she was up to something then said (paraphrase):
“You know Blair. You hit her and she hits back twice as hard.” Like a lot of
people I took that as a good sign that Todd recognized Blair’s strength but
there was a disturbing sub-text to me. I also heard Todd saying to himself that
he could justify anything he did to her because she would do the same to him and
worse. With that statement his absolved himself of ever having to worry about
how his actions would impact on Blair. He could allow himself to do really awful
things to her and not take responsibility for them because she would just give
him payback in kind. Well, sometimes when you “hit” people they fall down.
And that should matter and matter a lot when the person is question is someone
you love. After everything that has happened between T&B I thought it was
plausible that this time Blair would fall and the story would be about her
finding the courage within herself to get back up again. Once again, though,
this would involve giving Blair a voice in all of this and I’m not holding my
breath that will ever happen on the show.
Thanks again for reading Consequences, b, and for taking the time to let me know
what you thought about it. I’m sorry it took me a couple of days to respond.
Real life has been kicking with combat boots. As always, Ladyday and zzanee,
thanks for ALL your support! Mucho hugs!
