Dreams Spun in Gold Suite
Todd and Blair set the gold standard for soap weddings and romance. Although there is nothing traditional about this couple, when they came together for the gold wedding in 1995 and then the Third Time's the Charm wedding in 2001, nothing has ever been more romantic. This room is dedicated to love and those times when someone gets it right.

I Belong To You:
I fell in love with Todd and Blair from the moment they sat next to each at Rodi’s the first time. Sparks fly all over the place as two brokenhearted people by luck, fate or design stumbled into their soulmate at the most unexpected time and in the most unexpected place. They both felt it, although Todd was more willing at the time to tune into his feelings. He wanted Blair and wanted her to want him too. If anyone needed further proof that they were destined to be together, the second meeting at Rodi’s sent the dial on the chemistry meter to the highest level and then sent it through the roof. The chemistry between the two was undeniable as they made successive moves in a delightful dance of seduction. What was to be was foretold in this meeting. “I belong to you,” sings Brian McKnight (Anytime). It was true then and it’s true now.
Come Away With Me:
Todd Manning was the lost Lord heir and everyone seemed to figure it out except Todd. When Blair found out she decided to trick Todd into marrying her then planned to plant bread crumbs to lead him to the truth about his heritage and more importantly about his inheritance. Blair desperately wanted to be rich but what she never counted on was that the reason she was so willing to marry Todd was because she was already in love with him. Blair pretended to be pregnant then gently cajoled Todd into going back to Key West and marrying her, “Come away with me.” She ended up falling head over heels into the arms of love. “Come away with me and I’ll never stop loving you,” sings Norah Jones (Come Away With Me). And Blair never has.
Fields of Gold:
When Todd and Blair married in 1995 all of the secrets and lies had been exposed and the only thing left standing was the love between them. They married in a gorgeous wedding with promises of many golden days to come filled with joy and love. They were both happier than they had ever been in their lives before. The breaking of the mirror at their private reception, however, was an omen of things to come. Todd left on a mission of mercy right after the wedding and was presumed killed. Almost a year later Todd returned from the dead but from the moment he walked into the penthouse and saw Blair in the arms of Patrick Thornhart things between them went downhill. Yet despite all of the pain and betrayal that followed they never stopped loving each other. Six years later they married again in another beautiful wedding with promises of gold. “I promise you in the years left we will walk in fields of gold,” sings Eva Cassidy (Songbird).
FIELDS OF GOLD
Kiss of Life:
It’s Valentine’s Day and Starr is thrilled. Her family is finally together, her parents are in love and Starr wants to celebrate. She greets Todd and Blair with a creatively decorated living room in honor of the day and expects merriment to ensue. Blair and Todd are happy but subdued. There is a lot going on in their world. Blair is in love and things seem to be gradually coming together. She has made peace with her baby’s death and has let herself fall in love with baby Jack. And the one thing she will never let herself forget is how Todd was there for her when she delivered the baby and how he has done everything since then to compensate for the baby’s death. She feels both grateful and guilty. Todd, however, knows the truth about the baby and is haunted by his own version of guilt. The lies are piling up and he is distracted and wary especially now that Gabrielle is blackmailing him. When Blair receives a call from RJ asking her to sing at Capricorn, she readily agrees. At Capricorn, Todd’s mood does not improve. All of his nemeses, including Rae, Gabrielle, Max, and Bo, are floating around and are not shy about taking jabs at him. Blair tells him to just look at her and she will just look at him. When she sings, he focuses his full attention on her with a singular and smoldering intensity that blocks out everyone except Blair. In the end, all of the irritation in the world can’t keep him from letting everyone see how much he loves Blair. “There must have been an angel by my side who brought me to you. You built a bridge to my heart, all the way…” sings Sade (Lovers Live).
Love
Forever:
In the middle of September 2002 it looks as if the island fiasco is finally drawing to a close. Todd and Tea went skinny-dipping and may or may not have had sex but in any case Todd woke up the next morning fully clothed with Tea’s head resting on his chest and with only one thing on his mind—Blair. Weeks earlier he had made a big show of tearing Blair’s face out of the photograph of her and the children that he had held onto since the boat wreck like the most precious keepsake of his life. Tea had been reassured by his gesture and convinced herself that he was indeed over Blair. But things were not as they seemed. The morning after the skinny-dipping, Todd gently pushed a sleeping Tea away then immediately rushed to his cooler. He felt around for a few seconds then pulled out the picture of Blair and studied it before finally touching it to his lips. All of the time he led Tea to believe otherwise, he had kept Blair's image safely hidden away. When Tea caught him staring at the picture even she began to realize that Todd never stopped loving Blair and he never will. This slideshow reflects that simple truth. Despite his actions on the island and his insistence to the contrary, Todd’s heart belongs to Blair and all he has been thinking about the whole time is how to get back to her. “If I could, then I would. I'll go wherever you will go,” sings The Calling (Camino Palmero).
